about

Speakman partnered with Simo Lagnawi, a Gnawan musician (traditional spiritual music of Morocco) to create a track that transitions between dancefloor fillers and religious incantation. Babamimoun evokes the deserts of North Africa and is set at the birth of an alien civilization on a game engine-inspired planet that comfortably occupies a space between Final Fantasy and Avatar.

"After visiting Morocco and falling in love with the depth of the music out there we were so excited to get in the studio with Simo and combine this with revisiting our roots in making Babamimoun as the track is heavily inspired from the many times we were in a muddy field at silly o'clock in the morning raving to some hard-hitting euphoric music." say the Speakman brothers.

The track features remixes from emerging producers as well as established talents Chambray, Yousef (Circus), 2Songs and Burland and gained massive club and DJ support from Pete Tong and Danny Howard to Musumeci, Oliver Heldens, Joris Voorn, Digitalism, Meduza and Claptone.
